Eric

2nd degree black belt in dahanmoodo (a style that focuses on taekwondo, judo, hapkido, TungSooDo, and ground defense).

4 years of experience training adult and youth martial arts classes and adult cardio Kickboxing classes.

3 years experience teaching a gymnastics, parkour and martial arts combo class for adults and youth students.

Kyosanim Eric is a 7 year experienced martial arts & self defense practitioner.

He studied the art of Dahanmoodo (The Great Martial Arts of Korea) under Grandmaster Joel Waldron and Master Fusco. Joel had studied his art under Grandmaster Ho Soo Hwang and Grandmaster Moo Yong Lee.

The art of Dahanmoodo combines Taekwondo, Tang Soo Do, Hapkido, Aikido, Judo and Ground Defense all in order to create a self defense driven martial art for various situations.

In Dahanmoodo Eric learned how to handle multiple situations from verbally defusing an attacker. Keeping an attacker away. Getting away from an attacker. To “break” the attacker or restrain the attacker.

Eric was rewarded his first degree black belt in Dahanmoodo after 5 years of consistent training. After an additional 2 years as a black belt, he was rewarded his second degree by Grandmaster Waldron.

While teaching he was also bestowed the title Kyosanim; which translates to primary teacher. Someone who teaches the core and necessary skills plus foundation.

It was early into his training when he fell in love with helping others learn and grow.  After his first year of training, Eric had started assisting in the Martial and Cardio Kickboxing classes. After 3 dedicated years he was leading both Adult and Youth martial arts. Hosting cardio kickboxing class, and becoming the Primary instructor for the school’s Jedi Warrior program. A class dedicated to martial arts, sword work, gymnastics and parkour.

He comes to Big Sky with the hope of helping people learn how to defend themselves and keep their loved ones safe.  In addition he is highly motivated to help others become the very best they can be.

“The very essence of martial arts is the thirst for knowledge and the truth about ourselves.” — Frank Shamrock
