“You get what you work for, not what you wish for”

BS Kinesiology

Concentration in Exercise Physiology

As a Type 1 diabetic, exercise has been a fundamental part of my life from an early age. I learned the importance of nutrition and its synergy with exercise at a younger age than most, which shaped my passion for health and fitness. Throughout my journey, I had the opportunity to learn from various coaches, each of whom deepened my understanding of proper exercise techniques and principles. This exposure inspired me to further my studies in the field of exercise science.

During my undergraduate studies, I not only gained a comprehensive understanding of human anatomy but also developed expertise in movement mechanics, goal-oriented training, and personalized nutrition strategies. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Physiology from Mississippi State University.

Growing up in Mississippi, I was actively involved in sports and my community. I competed in soccer, volleyball, and track while maintaining a consistent personal fitness routine for over eight years. Additionally, I coached young athletes in volleyball and track and field, and I have worked with individuals of varying physical and intellectual abilities, helping them develop skills such as cycling, swimming, and overall physical coordination.

These experiences have given me invaluable knowledge, deep gratitude, and a profound appreciation for the role of exercise and nutrition in people’s lives. I firmly believe that success comes through dedication and effort—nothing is given for free. My goal at Big Sky is to help every member achieve their fitness goals in a healthy, sustainable, and enjoyable way while fostering a positive and motivating environment.

Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.”
