Massage Therapy
at Big Sky Vernon
Barbara and Carlie have provided massage therapy at Big Sky Vernon for many years, each with more than 20 years of experience, their hands carrying the wisdom of countless sessions. Through it all—aches, pains, stress, tension, joy, and transformation—they’ve remained steadfast in their belief in the healing power of touch.
Barbara attended the CT Center for Massage Therapy and is licensed in Connecticut and New York. She has been providing massage at Big Sky Vernon for over 20 years. Barbara’s clients appreciate the individualized approach she takes for each session and the different modalities that may be utilized. These include Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofascial, Cupping, Gua Sha, and Pregnancy massage. Barbara strongly believes that listening to each client’s concerns is of utmost importance. Her clients often remark on how she seems to pinpoint the source of their pain before they even articulate it.
Carlie also began her career at the same massage school, starting with Swedish Massage, a modality that drew her in with its graceful flow and ability to soothe the nervous system. Over the years, she expanded her skill set, providing Deep Tissue massage, Cupping, Hot Stone therapy, and Reiki. These techniques added layers to her practice, giving her a diverse range of tools to address the needs of her clients. Carlie’s approach is gentle yet effective, easing both surface tension and deeper knots with equal finesse.
Both Barbara and Carlie share a fundamental belief: massage isn’t merely a luxury but a crucial part of maintaining good health. They know from experience that regular massage can elevate mood, promote deep relaxation, and relieve the physical burdens that their clients carry day to day. At Big Sky Vernon, they’ve seen how weekly or bi-weekly massages help people recover faster, sleep better, and live with less pain. They have countless stories of clients who walked into their practice feeling tense and frazzled, only to walk out with a renewed sense of peace and vitality.
Over the years, Barbara and Carlie have developed a seamless rhythm in their work. Carlie’s clients are drawn to her ability to blend Swedish techniques with deep tissue work, addressing both surface-level stress and deeper muscular discomfort. Barbara’s clients appreciate her ability to release stubborn tension and holding patterns while also producing deep relaxation and stress reduction.
Together, they live by the philosophy that receiving massage regularly is key to maintaining overall wellness. With Big Sky Vernon’s Massage Advantage membership program, they’ve made it easier than ever for their clients to integrate massage into their lives.
“As important as it is to have a plan for doing work, it is perhaps more important to have a plan for rest, relaxation, self-care, and sleep.” Akiroq Brost
