“My belief in you is far greater than your self-doubt.”
People fall into exercise for many different reasons. Fitness, as a young gymnast, was a top priority for me. In the excitement of my new favorite sport, I found myself the neighborhood kid who got everyone together to do summer workouts, but, like many, I lost my way once in college, only to find myself in dire need of getting my health back on track.
After graduating college with a BFA I didn’t know what to do with, I got caught up in the chaos of working restaurant life, and remained off track. After putting myself in the gym to start on my own journey, I quickly remembered my love for health and wellness, and my newfound interest of helping others on their own fitness journeys. I then fast tracked myself into becoming a certified personal fitness coach.
Now, with 17 years in the field, I’ve enjoyed over 15 of those most amazing years working with Big Sky and its amazing members! I am a proud NASM Certified Personal Trainer, a NASM Certified Nutrition Coach, and a NASM Certified Wellness Coach! Those in my coaching circle are all forever considered my “Fitness Family!” I strive to create a sense of community within my clients, because we are stronger together!
I feel like the luckiest person to be able to work with individuals in becoming the best version of themselves! But health isn’t just physical health… it’s mental and emotional wellness, too! That’s why I’ve decided to pursue an encompassing approach to wellness through guiding individuals on their journey of fitness, nutrition, and overall wellbeing!
I strive to guide my clients on not just making time for themselves to get their workouts in, but to also build trust in their ability to give time to their own health, and find the path to be able to do so in a manageable and effortless manner.
I strive to build a strong rapport in those who work with me to learn to trust in me, their coach, their confidant, their fitness family, to make health and wellness a priority through focus on the mind, body, and soul. Fitness should be fun too! …that’s why you’ll often find me laughing and joking with my clients as we are kicking butt in our workouts!
While I was once a Pro Fitness Competitor, I quickly learned how health priorities change as one’s life changes, and that as my body aged, I had to be willing to change my health and wellness practices, too! This greatly impacted how I evolved as a fitness conscious woman and coach!
Although I spend the majority of my time working with Big Sky members of all varieties of interests and injuries in achieving their fitness goals, I’ve also worked with the CT Special Olympians on bringing health and wellness into their life, especially during the pandemic, with virtual training. The pandemic taught me how exercise has to change with us, to work with what’s presented in front of us. I now coach my clients both in club, and virtually, since health and wellness needs to be flexible, and quitting is NEVER an option!
While you’ll often find me eating a salad, don’t think I’m not enjoying a margarita, a donut, or an ice cream here and there with my husband, family and friends, too! That’s why I believe in a balance of getting out and enjoying life to its fullest, while understanding the science behind its role and impact in our personal fitness journey, too!
Put your trust in me, and together we can help you live a healthier version of yourself now and for the future!
