The #1 question we hear all the time…
Where did the name
come from?
From Day 1, the very first Big Sky’s design reflected the natural beauty outside, with hundreds of large windows offering vast views of the surrounding landscape and sky. THAT’s what inspired the name “Big Sky”. . . that you’d be able to see the sky from anywhere in the gym (except the locker rooms😊).
(. . . and “no”, choosing that name actually had nothing to do with Montana.)
And an “insider secret” — the blue box in the Big Sky logo represents all of those beautiful windows!
The name Big Sky also came to be symbolic of the limitless possibilities for positive change we all strive for within each of our own personal fitness journeys . . . wherever they make take us!

membership
Monthly memberships are paid via electronic funds transfer from your credit card, debit card, or checking account.
For in-house purchases like protein shakes, heathy snacks, water and other drinks, prepaid memberships etc., we’ll accept both credit & debit cards, Apple Pay, checks and cash.
(sorry, Pesos, Euros & Francs aren’t compatible with our billing system).
Anyone age 13 and up is more than welcome to join. Student members under the age of 18 need a parent’s written permission to purchase one of our 12-month membership options… we did have a 3-year old squat 225 once, but it was just one time.
Your annual club improvement fee is charged 120 days from the day you join, and on the same date each year thereafter. The date is always recorded on your membership agreement, but if you need help finding it, just give us a call or stop by the front desk!
The annual club improvement fee goes right back into the clubs. In 2023 over $980,000 was reinvested! (We did think about adding an indoor petting zoo a few years ago… but donkeys cost more than you think!) Check out some recent updates here: https://bigskyfitness.com/club-improvements-2023-24/
Just stop by the front desk at whichever Big Sky club is most convenient for you and the paperwork will only take a minute! We might also ask you to do 3-4 laps around the building too, but it’s good for you!
Absolutely! Your Big Sky membership includes free guests. You can bring one guest any time you come in, and each of your guests can have one free visit per calendar month. So, that means that if you have 30 different friends you could bring a different one every day!
If you’d like to bring someone in multiple times a month, you can always add Unlimited Guests to your membership. That means that you can bring in the same person as often as you’d like.
And the best part about bringing a friend is that when one of your guests joins Big Sky (with a 12+ month membership), you’ll BOTH get a FREE MONTH! We call that a win-win!
At the end of the initial term, your membership rolls over on a month-to-month basis. At that time, your monthly dues increase by $5.95 (plus tax). You can keep it month-to-month if you’d like, but if you’d like to continue to pay the lowest rate available, you have the option to re-write your agreement and lower your dues. If you’d like to do that, just swing by the front desk. The paperwork will only take a minute! (But if you don’t laugh at our Dad jokes, we may increase your rate instead… just sayin’…)
While we would certainly hate to lose you as a member, should you need to cancel your membership, just email our billing company, ABC Fitness Solutions at customercare@nullabcfitness.com and they’ll walk you through the process. Then, this guy shows up at your house with a bat to get you to stay on as a member. But no, really, just contact ABC Fitness, they’ll take good care of you.
While within the initial term of your membership agreement, freezes are allowed for medical reasons with documentation from your doctor (no, ingrown toenails don’t count). If you need to freeze, please reach out to the billing company directly at customercare@nullabcfitness.com to provide written notice from your doctor. Your payments for the time you’re unable to use the club will be deferred to the end of your membership term.
Student members with a recurring monthly billing are allowed to freeze their payments while attending a school more than 15 miles from their club. Please stop by the front desk to fill out a membership freeze form for student freezes. Short term student memberships are not able to be frozen.
Memberships are transferable if the payments are current and the person taking over the membership has not been a member within the last three months. All you need to do is provide written notice with the name of the new member, and as soon as they complete membership paperwork at the front desk, you’ll be good to go. There’s a $25 fee to process the transfer (If you want to charge your friend double, that’s up to you 😊)
The easiest way to update your billing method is to log into our billing company’s secure web portal at www.myiclubonline.com. You can manage your account from there.
Absolutely! Paid in full memberships are always available in person at the clubs (please don’t pay us in nickels though, that’s just annoying).
Since we always want to make sure that all our members are paying the same rate, there’s no discount for a paid in full option.
All our monthly memberships are set up on an individual basis and are available to both adult and student members. There are also short-term student membership options available for anyone age 13 to 22.
We are not a Silver Sneakers provider.
coaching / personal training
Because there are so many different options available, it can be a little difficult to give you an exact price on coaching. In general, the more sessions you buy, the less the cost per session. The price will vary based on the number of times per week you meet with your coach, as well as the total number of weeks in your program. If you train four times a day, eight days/week, it’s almost FREE!
Keep in mind that your membership also includes two complimentary coaching sessions, and in those sessions your coach will help you make the right choice for you (and your budget!). Your Big Sky coach will write your program from the ground up based on your current fitness level and your personal goals.
For most of our packages, the cost is about $35 to $45 per session.
You can learn more about working with a Big Sky Coach here: https://bigskyfitness.com/personal-training/
Not only does small group training give our amazing coaches the ability to help more of our members, it also helps to lower the cost! But don’t worry, since our teams are usually between 3 and 6 people, you’ll get plenty of hands-on attention. Your Big Sky coach will also make sure that you’re working with other members who are at a similar fitness level and going after the same types of goals. So, if you’re looking to get back in shape or just to lose a few pounds, we’ll make sure you’re not getting matched up with someone that just finished an Ironman in under 11 minutes!
Your Big Sky membership includes two sessions with one of our amazing coaches to help you get started. That’s two 45-minute sessions designed to see where you’re at right now, and to help you formulate a plan to get you where you want to go as quickly as possible. If you’d like some extra help, your coach will also go over all the different coaching programs that we offer. But, if you’d prefer to work on your own, you’ll at least learn some tools to start you off on the right track and not have you spinning your wheels, ‘cuz who wants to do that??
club “stuff” and more common questions
We do not. While we want our locker rooms to have every amenity you could ever want, at Big Sky, we want to make sure we maximize the space in our clubs to give you the most fitness area possible and make sure everything is sparkling clean. In our experience, most people have good hygiene, but it only takes one who doesn’t to spread germs in a warm and/or moist environment like a sauna or steam room. That’s just “ick” so for our member’s sake, we steer clear.
We want all our members to feel comfortable while they’re working out, so there’s nothing specific as far as a dress code. Rock a T-shirt and shorts, do a pump cover with a hoodie and sweatpants, or go with sports bras and spandex, it’s all fine by us.
Our daytime and overnight cleaning crews work every day to make sure that the clubs are the cleanest gyms you’ve ever joined. On Sundays, they get the opportunity to do an even more thorough, detailed cleaning, or to work on larger projects like stripping and waxing the floors or cleaning the carpets. By closing a little earlier one day out of the week, we give the cleaning staff a little extra time to get this done, and it also gives them a little extra time to spend at home with their families.
Big Sky Farmington stays open a little later on the weekends to accommodate USTA matches, so if you’d like a later workout, check them out. You’ll find club hours for that location here: www.bigskyfitness.com/Farmington
