Hello everyone – Happy Holidays ! Here’s the latest on what’s going on as we look to finish up the major club improvements for you:
UPSTAIRS WORKOUT AREA: . . . ALL NEW and finished ! Once the main stairs area was re-done, we were able to finish all the flooring upstairs. And while it’s not inherently obvious, the middle stairs were done with rubber so that they could be used as a “workout lane”.
Another option for Better Workouts — have fun with it !
(We’ll be adding signs to make it more clear for everyone that it’s a “Workout Lane”.)
The carpeted stairs on either side are intended for up & down “pedestrian traffic”.
WOMEN’S ONLY AREA: Ladies, thank you SO much for your patience. We knew re-routing everyone through your area while those main stairs were being worked on was an inconvenience. We got the work done as quickly as we could . . . THANK YOU for bearing with us through all that.
Now we have BIG NEWS for you:
The area downstairs that we’ve been working on, in between the NEW Group X Studio and the pool, will be carpeted and 95% finished this weekend.
This will be your BRAND NEW WOMEN’S ONLY AREA !
HVAC, walls, ceilings, flooring, light fixtures . . . ALL of it . . . BRAND NEW ! More natural light, better air flow, and – most importantly – more privacy than your current area.
With this new spot, there won’t be any need for anyone to pass through on their way to someplace else in the club. It will truly be Women’s Only (no boys allowed :)).
“Moving Day” will be this coming Monday, 12/14, so both the current women’s only area, and the new one, will unfortunately not be available from 9a to 4:30p that day. Please plan your workouts accordingly.
After all the equipment is all moved in . . . ENJOY !
(A textured & filmed glass entrance will be installed next week – to give you even more privacy.)
SPINNING: The work is almost finished, and your NEW SPINNING STUDIO will be opening Monday night, 12/21 !
This NEW STUDIO is nearly DOUBLE in size, and everything is NEW: HVAC, ceiling, walls, lighting, floors . . . the whole room. Most importantly, this studio will be the 1st in Connecticut to feature our NEW VIRTUAL REALITY CLASSES !
Using the NEW 200” SCREEN, our Big Sky instructors will be using the NEW SYSTEM to take you on immersive virtual rides — all over the world ! Pacific Coast Highway, Niagara Falls, beaches in New Zealand, European hamlets . . . you name it !
THIS is the evolution of Spinning – the BEST spinning studio this side of Manhattan !
MORE UPSTAIRS FITNESS SPACE: work will start on Monday, 12/14, to demolish the existing women’s only area. The wall separating the women’s area from the free weight room will be torn down, and that whole upstairs area will be converted into EVEN MORE FITNESS SPACE !
LADIES’ LOCKER ROOM: work will begin by the end of December on converting the current spinning studio into being made part of what will be an ALL NEW, BIGGER, MUCH NICER WOMEN’S LOCKER ROOM — right there next to the pool.
MEN’S LOCKER ROOM: once the NEW ladies’ room is finished, we’ll be converting the other ladies’ locker room (the one next to the big stairs in the middle of the club) into the NEW MEN’S LOCKER ROOM.
MORE WORKOUT SPACE DOWNSTAIRS: once the Men’s Locker Room is moved, we’ll be knocking down the old Men’s Locker Room. We’ll create a better Family Changing Room and bathroom for kids using the pool, and then THE ENTIRE REST OF THE OLD MEN’S ROOM will become part of the downstairs strength training area.
That’ll be an almost 70% INCREASE IN SPACE FOR WORKING OUT DOWNSTAIRS !!
OK, that’s a lot going on, but we’ll continue to make improvements to your club without ever closing it, and with as little disruption to your use and enjoyment of the gym as possible.
