So you joined a gym! Now what?!

Congratulations! You took one of the hardest steps in getting healthier – walking through the doors and joining Big Sky. We know that’s the most difficult part for many of our members.

Now that you’re here, we want to make this a successful and motivating place for you. Walking around feeling lost, or feeling intimidated is the WORST when you are somewhere new, and we know that. Today we want to give you a few tips to make the most out of your time here, and start feeling fantastic with the progress you’re making right from day one.

  1. ASK FOR HELP:

Not sure how long you should be doing cardio? Not sure how to use the kettlebells so you don’t get hurt? Or maybe you have some questions regarding your nutrition…

We have some AMAZING Trainers here that are ready and more than willing to help you with all of your fitness questions and goals. Setting you up with a plan for success, tackling nutrition questions, and teaching you new skills to keep you motived are just a few of the perks of meeting with a Trainer at Big Sky.

Every one of our members gets 2 FREE Personal Training sessions with their membership. If you didn’t sign up for those when you came in, don’t be afraid to do that at any point! Getting knowledge from one of our experts is one of the best ways to ensure you are getting the most out of your gym experience!

  1. GET IN A ROUTINE

You’ve probably heard that habits take 21 days to stick, right? So any habit (going to the gym included) is going to take some time to become a part of your daily routine. Try planning out your week in a calendar and writing in your gym days. Stick to the plan like you would any other appointment! It’s an appointment with yourself to reach your goals.

  1. TRY A CLASS

Sometimes it’s hard to motivate yourself, but classes are a great way to meet people and stay motivated at the same time. Even if you’ve already met with a Trainer, adding in a group class can help mix up your weekly schedule in a great new way.

We have everything from spinning and kickboxing, to yoga and Pilates. There are an abundance of options just waiting for you to try, ALL included in your membership with NO additional fees!!

  1. JUST DO IT!

Of all the tips we can give you, the most important one is JUST GO! The more you go, the better you feel, and the more confident you will be each and every time you walk through our doors. Every workout is a step in the right direction!

Whether we’re the first gym you’ve joined, or you’ve belonged to many gyms before, we want to be your BEST experience ever. If you’re stopping in for a shake or stopping in for a workout, we can’t wait to see you!
