Crystal Astrachan has been working with Big Sky Vernon Trainer Sarah Longo. She was kind enough to answer a few of our questions and share her experience.
Q. What was your primary goal when you began working with Sarah ?
A. When I started working with Sarah, I had a goal to lose 50 pounds. I also wanted to reduce the pressure on my knees, lower my cholesterol, have more energy to live well, and just be healthier in general.
Q. What was your motivation to start working out ?
A. I had my annual physical exam. My cholesterol was high and I was significantly overweight.
Q. What results have you seen so far ?
A. I’ve lost 42 pounds and my cholesterol is now normal. My goal is to lose 10 more pounds !
Q. That’s GREAT ! What are your activities like now ?
A. After I became fit, it was easier for me to work out several times per week. My weekly workout routine usually includes Group-X classes like Spinning, Kickboxing and Pilates, walking, and both group and individual strength training.
Q. Do you have any words of wisdom to share with someone who might be just starting out ?
A. We should think of plateaus as being part of the journey to reaching our fitness goals.
That’s great advice Crystal. It’s easy to let ourselves get discouraged when we hit a plateau, but you’re right… it really is part of the journey. Thanks for sharing your story ! Keep up the great work.
